This walk takes you around the outside of Hoghton Towers Estate, and partly on it. Through one of the most impressive gorges in Lancashire, and over some beautiful countryside. By river and canal, woods and fields, it has something for everyone and every level of fitness. The wildlife is fantastic, particularly the birds. There are three pubs on the walk, the Royal Oak, the Boars Head and The Boatyard. 7 miles

Starting from Studland this walk offers cliff tops, rolling chalk downs, woods (a little), and open heathland (a lot). With marvellous panoramic views this is one not to be missed. The main walk is about 11 miles, but there are options for 9, 7 1/2 or 6 miles. 11 miles

This 3.5 mile circular walk starts at the church and then sets out into pleasant countryside, in places running along disused railway, through quiet pasturelad and returning beside Lavenham Hall.
