| Throughout the White Peak limestone plateau run the green scars of several disused railway lines. In the 1960s the Peak District National Park Authority converted the former Cromford and High Peak Railway and the Ashbourne to Buxton Railway lines into what are now the High Peak and Tissington Trails respectively.
Parsley Hay is situated at the junction of the two lines and is an ideal place from which to explore the gentle, scenic routes through the limestone countryside. There are refreshments available along with picnic area and cycle hire. Parsley Hay can be accessed from the A515 near the turning for the prehistoric Arbor Low site.

| A pleasant walk on riverside paths, up a wooded dale and through high fields with spectacular views of limestone country. Varied scenery and relative ease make it suitable for all times of the year. This part of the Dove is much quieter than the lower reaches and the scenery is, in my view, superior.

| The route follows two of the Peak Districts gritstone edges, Froggatt Edge & Curbar Edge, that are regularly visited by rock climbers & then the less crag like White Edge. |

| An exercise in navigation, around Dovestone reservoir and Dovestone
Moss.
Using grid and compass references, the aim is to find plane wrecks (or
what''s left) going over some rough ground! you have been warned! There
are
dozens of sites in the area, I have given you directions to two, try to
find the others yourself from the grid references given. |
